It was a breezy evening by the river, and Bibi was feeling a little shy but excited. Dad had invited him to help with a special dinner: fried crab and a cold beer for Dad! Bibi’s job was to help watch over the crabs they had caught earlier that day.
Bibi sat by the basket, peeking in at the crabs. They clacked their claws together, making little clicking sounds that made Bibi giggle nervously. He was a bit scared of the crabs at first, but Dad showed him how to handle them gently so they wouldn’t pinch. “Be brave, Bibi,” Dad said with a wink. “We’ll have a feast soon.”
With a deep breath, Bibi carefully watched the crabs. Dad set up a small stove and began heating oil in a pan. The delicious smell of garlic and onions sizzling in the pan filled the air. Dad added the crabs, and they turned a bright, beautiful red as they cooked. Bibi’s mouth watered at the sight.
As the crabs fried to a crispy perfection, Dad popped open a cold beer and poured it into a frosty glass. He took a sip and grinned at Bibi. “Great job watching those crabs, buddy,” he said, raising the glass in a little toast.
Bibi blushed and smiled shyly, feeling proud of his small role. When the crabs were ready, Dad set them on a big plate, golden and crispy. They sat down together under the evening sky, and Dad cracked the crabs open for Bibi, who licked his fingers and laughed at how tasty the meat was.
That night, Bibi realized that even when you feel shy or small, you can still be part of something special. Helping Dad and sharing this delicious dinner made him feel brave — and very, very happy.
