On a warm afternoon, Thuy was busy preparing a beautiful platter of fresh fruit for her guests. The sweet scent of ripe mangoes, juicy watermelons, and fragrant lychees filled the air, making the kitchen feel like a little paradise. Lala, the mischievous little monkey, watched from the doorway, her eyes wide with curiosity and her mouth watering.
Thuy was careful and precise, arranging the fruit to look as beautiful as possible. She hummed a soft tune as she worked, and Lala tiptoed closer, her little hands twitching with excitement. She couldn’t resist the temptation. When Thuy turned her back for just a moment, Lala quickly grabbed the biggest piece of mango and slipped away.
At first, Lala only meant to taste a little bit. But the sweetness was too delicious to stop at just one bite! She nibbled on the mango, then the watermelon, and then she couldn’t resist the lychees. One by one, the pieces of fruit disappeared into her happy little tummy.
Thuy came back to the table, ready to show her beautiful creation to her guests. But her eyes widened in shock. The platter was half-empty, and sticky little handprints trailed down the table. She looked around and soon found Lala hiding under the table, cheeks bulging and juice dripping from her chin.
“Oh, Lala,” Thuy said with a sigh, half amused and half exasperated. Lala looked up at her with innocent eyes, clearly sorry for what she’d done but also too full to care. Thuy knew Lala’s curiosity had gotten the better of her, and she couldn’t stay angry for long.
