The sun was shining brightly that morning, and Lala was in a cheerful mood as she skipped through the garden. Chip, her best friend, was already waiting for her under the old lychee tree, a basket full of ripe, juicy lychees beside him.
“Look, Lala!” Chip called out with a big smile. “The lychees are ready to eat!”
Lala’s eyes lit up with excitement. She loved lychees—their sweet, refreshing taste always made her feel so happy. She ran over to Chip and they sat down together in the cool shade of the tree. With eager hands, they started peeling the lychees, the sticky juice making their fingers shiny.
“Look how red and juicy they are!” Lala exclaimed, giggling as she popped a lychee into her mouth. The sweet burst of flavor made her giggle even more, and soon Chip was laughing too.
They took turns feeding each other the fruit, their laughter echoing through the garden. They pretended to have a contest to see who could eat the most lychees without getting sticky hands. Of course, neither of them won—the sticky juice was too irresistible!
Every time Lala tried to peel a lychee quickly, it would slip out of her fingers and roll away, making her squeal in surprise and chase after it. Chip found this so funny he could hardly stop laughing.
The afternoon sun was warm, and the two friends felt completely carefree. They told silly jokes, made up funny songs about lychees, and even built little towers from the empty lychee shells. Lala’s cheeks were rosy from laughing so much, and Chip’s eyes sparkled with delight.
By the end of their feast, they were both full of sweet lychees and even sweeter memories. Lala and Chip knew that this simple afternoon in the garden would be one they’d always remember, filled with laughter, friendship, and the taste of summer’s best fruit.
