This morning, Lala was feeling bright and cheery as she played with her toys in the living room. She was humming a sweet tune and building a tower of colorful blocks, completely absorbed in her fun. Thuy, who was sitting nearby, decided to have a little fun of her own.
She tiptoed over to Lala and playfully teased her, pretending to knock over the tower every time Lala turned her back. At first, Lala thought it was funny. She giggled and quickly rebuilt the tower, determined to make it even taller. But Thuy kept teasing, gently poking at Lala’s blocks and making them wobble.
Lala’s giggles slowly faded. Her big brown eyes turned serious as she realized Thuy was doing it on purpose. “Thuy, stop it!” she said, her tiny voice quivering with frustration. But Thuy just smiled, thinking it was all in good fun.
When Thuy pretended to topple the tower one last time, Lala’s little heart filled with sadness and anger. She scowled at Thuy, her lips trembling and her small fists clenching at her sides. “No more!” she shouted, her eyes shining with tears. “You’re ruining everything!”
Thuy paused, finally noticing the real hurt in Lala’s eyes. She reached out to comfort Lala, but the little girl pulled away. She didn’t want hugs or silly jokes—she wanted her tower to stay up, and she wanted to feel like her hard work was respected.
Seeing how upset Lala was, Thuy immediately apologized, her voice gentle and full of remorse. She promised not to tease anymore and even offered to help Lala build the tallest tower yet. Lala sniffled and slowly let her anger melt away, a small smile returning to her face as she and Thuy began to rebuild—this time, together.
